Hi, guys,
I'm now tying wet flies and I'm currious to know what is your favorite wet fly?
I've readed that Irish flytyers make interesting wet flies(hi Roy). I've readed about a Glosling, or what was the name I can't remember now. It was with very interesting design.
Hi, Glen, could that Whitlocks Red fox squirrel nymph be tied as wet pattern?
My favorite one is "Professor" and Light Cahill, I caugth a lot of chubs on it this winter here.

Best to you!

Rado

Hi, Roy,
what's up boy?
Thanks a lot for the suggestions.
I'll check all of them, I see that Gosling is tied by Hans, Looks like very efective one, good to him.
And what about your flies, March brown and Red Quill, are they good for river, or a just for lakes?

I'll try to tie them all, and after taht tell you about the result. If I can I'll make pictures of them.

Thanks a lot again.
Tight lines!

Rado

P.S. I'l chek some magazines this days and see whether I have some new cuestions for asking, the interrogation is not finished yet

Rado,
you most certainly can tie Whitlock's RFSN as a wet. go to the second thread I posted and you can see it tied as an soft hackle wet .if you want to do them with a wing I suggest either a duck wing quill or oak turkey tail feathers.
As far as my favorite wets , I have several . most were published in a book here in 1938 by an American tier called Ray Bergman. Bergman's book " Trout" is still considered the trout anglers bible here in the states and has been reprinted many times. if you get the chance to obtain one it is well worth the money.
The professor , the black prince, american march brown, Gold ribbed hares ear, the blue professor, and light cahill wets can all be found in my wet fly box.
Since my ancestors are Scotch and Irish , I too love the Irish wet Patterns and Scottish spey and Dee patterns here is a link to guy by the name Bill McIlroy who does fantastic wets and dries both
http://www.billmcilroy.freeserve.co.uk/flypatt/wets.htm
I think you will enjoy looking through his site.
Tight Lines always
Glen

Hi, Glen,
thanks a lot man,
Цитат:

I like them too. Now I'm trying this turkey tail feathers. Now I have some feathers from wild goose, and they are prety flat, I'll think they can match too.
I know some thing about Roy Bergman, his book is a bestseler, and he sais about Dan Cahill's flies something like this: "If it was necessary to confine my assortment of flies to only two or three, this would be one of them".
Well, here it is dificult to by a book, all the books have to be shiped from abroad, and are getting expensive, but we are just fine, using the Internet.
This flies of MacIlroy are very cool, he is realy a professional in this.
I'll try them.
Thanks a lot again, Glen, and best to you!

Tight lines and skilful fingers!

Rado
